Squid’s Mini Reviews: Alice Madness Returns and Crysis

0

Just thought I'd start a little series to go through some games I really don't feel like writing full reviews for but deserve to be shunned all the same.  Some are dreadful while some just weren't at all what I was hoping for.  It is my firm belief, though, that all should be avoided.  Simple ...

New Tech: Skin-Stretch Feedback

0

When I have the choice, I’m usually a PC gamer simply because I prefer a mouse and keyboard to a controller or, heaven forbid, jumping up and down in front of a camera.  Still, there are many things a controller can do better than the classic keyboard/mouse combo.  A good example would be variable speed. ...

Red Orchestra: Heroes of Stalingrad Review (REMIX!)

0

So, I thought I’d do a little revisit here.  It’s been months since Red Orchestra 2: Heroes of Stalingrad came out and, although it had a rough start, I’ve gotta say Tripwire really stepped up its game and turned the title around.  Since our first review, I’ve continued to play.  First few weeks were hell.  ...

Review: Red Orchestra 2: Heroes of Stalingrad

2

I thought we'd shake this up with this review.  See, I (Squid) pre-ordered Red Orchestra 2 the instant it was available for purchase on Steam.  Had to.  I've been a fan since the original Red Orchestra mod came out for Unreal Tournament 2004.  It won best mod two years in a row and I've been ...

Brink Preview: PAX East 2011

1

So, Mack and I got some time at PAX East with Bethesda's latest title, Brink, developed by Splash Damage.  If you're unfamiliar with the game, let me give you the spiel from their site:   Brink is an immersive first-person shooter that blends single-player, co-op, and multiplayer gameplay into one seamless experience, allowing you to develop your ...

PAX East 2011 attendees count reaches almost 70,000

0

The official attendance of PAX East 2011 was 69,500.  Compared to last year's 52,290, that's quite the feat.  I suppose this justifies changing to a larger location this year.  No clue what they'll do to handle the masses in 2012, but I'm already looking forward to finding out.

Flight Control adds voice-chat: iOS gaming takes another step forward

0

Big news for all you iPhone/iPod Touch gamers out there. iOS developer Firemint has released a hefty update to their popular iOS title, Flight Control. Now, even if you're not a fan of the game or perhaps this is the first you've heard of the title (if so, how's the weather on Neptune?), it's still ...

Wii-K: This is a problem

Wii’s visual prowess has always been stunted but this is getting ridiculous…

I wish I knew how to quit you….

0

So it's been a while since I posted, I know, and I'm sorry for that. There's just been a lot going on. I've had real-life commitments, there's been general laziness, but the key factor for my lack of communication is I've just been really busy gaming. Now, I know it may seem a bit contradictory ...

We just stole your editor. How you like them apples?

0

One of the founders of IGN and long time Nintendo reviewer Matt Casamassina has stated on his blog that, after 13 years of service, he is leaving IGN to join up with Apple as their "Global Editorial Games Manager". If you're as confused by that title as I was, here's a snippet of his description ...
