I caught this over on The Firearm Blog (a good site for firearms news, if you’re into that stuff).

OMG! There's a gun in my video card bag!

Oh, THAT'S where my video card is! I thought I paid a grand only got this lousy plastic gun.

I quite honestly have no idea what demographic XFX is going for with their Radeon 5970 here.  As if the gun bag itself doesn’t seem strange, the plastic gun-shaped carrier for the card itself is just plain silly.  I can’t imagine one can fit anything worthwhile into that bag, the plastic carrier is pretty much worthless once you take the $1,000 card out of it, and are those bullets printed on the tops of those boxes?  Now look, I like guns as much as the next guy (I own a few), but I wouldn’t want this crap.  That hunk of plastic would be in the garbage along with the gun bag.  Just give me a plain white box to leave all of the important cables and accessories in.  That’s what all of the parts to my two BFG 8800 GTXs are in.  XFX is a decent company (at least my 7800 GTX was a quality card), but this just seems like misdirected marketing.

PC gamers that build their own rigs don’t care about this shit.  Just make the card work and give us power adapters for our PSUs and we’re happy.
